Mid
Kent Water offers a full
turn-key Multi-Utility operation for developers
and other commercial customers. Mid Kent Water
has undertaken many dual-lay Water and Gas
installations for a number of developers.
We have a full understanding
of our customers’ needs for a one-stop
operation with regards to laying the range
of utility services, including water, gas,
power, telecoms and other cable communications.
Through its strategic partnerships
with several principal utility contractors,
Mid Kent Water offers: design, installation,
testing and commissioning
services for all utility mains infrastructure.
In addition Mid Kent Water
will liaise with the nominated energy supplier
to project manage all metering requirements
on behalf of its customers.
Mid
Kent Water talks the
same language as all the major utility companies
because it is one. This understanding is essential
in order to negotiate the red tape, inherent
with individual installation, in order to
provide the most economically advantageous
solution to utility connections.
More importantly Mid Kent
Water understands that delivery and connection
on time is essential to the success of each
and every project.
A fully project managed turnkey
service is provided, adopting a one stop shop
approach that includes all of the following
elements:
- Application for supply
- Network Design
- Design approval
- Liaison with incumbent
license holder (water, gas, electric, telecom
etc.)
- Co-ordination of incumbent
license holder (e.g. off-site works)
- Mains installation, testing
and commissioning
- Adoption of new mains
infrastructure (by incumbent / independent
license holders)
- Co-ordination service
connections
- Materials and logistics
management
- Meter registration
(MPAN and MPRN allocation by supplier)
- Meter installation
- Record and forward meter
data to suppliers

Multi utility provides tangible
commercial benefits by leveraging economies
of scale and increased efficiencies. Less
obvious and intangible benefits are derived
from taking ownership of the end to end process,
from design to commissioning and registration
of the meter. This traditionally monopolistic
service has resulted in a lengthy drawn out
procedure that does not reflect today’s
requirement to provide a fast and efficient
solution for utility customers.
By giving the
responsibility of co-ordinating the installation
of all utilities to one service provider,
developers can concentrate on their core
business of building and construction, not
the management of historically inefficient
utility companies.
