| The
new Multi Utilities (MU) team had just seven
days to install water supplies for Wilson
Connolly South East Region and help 18 new
home owners move in before Christmas.
Wilson Connolly came to mid
kent water looking for help on what
had been a particularly difficult development
site.
Various problems had resulted
in the late completion of some activities
leading to the potential postponement of the
moving in date for the new home owners.
A spokesman for Wilson Connolly
South East, said: "Outsourcing the water
installations to mid kent water's
MU team meant 18 customers moved into new
homes a week before Christmas. We needed a
contractor that knew the ropes, hit the deadlines
and responded efficiently to our needs - mid
kent water rose to the challenge."
On the strength of its performance before
Christmas Wilson Connolly has invited mid
kent water's MU team to tender for
some of its forthcoming multi utility work.
John Lyden, MU Project
Manager, said:
"Eighteen customers moved into
new homes in time for Christmas,Wilson Connolly was satisfied
and we demonstrated that we weren't a faceless utilities
company.
This contract showcased our capabilities
in an expanding business sector.
The south-east is an unexploited market
for multi utilities and there is clear growth potential.
What we delivered for Wilson Connolly
we will deliver for any other client in the building and
construction industry - co-ordinating their utility installations
while they focus on their core business."
John praised the efforts
of his MU team, especially Chris Hollamby,
who planned the services, and Kent Lukar,
who co-ordinated the mains laying.
